Two resets get mixed up constantly. One refunds points. The other removes the Stand. They are different NPCs and different items.
The 77-point player tree
Vitality, Strength, Agility and Defence share one pool of 77 points earned by levelling. This tree helps every Stand you will own. Press X in any skill tree to open the build slots and save before you experiment.
The per-branch caps are not published in the summary used here. Spend from the job you are doing: a few Vitality points before Trials, Strength for damage and carry weight, Agility when outfits slow you down, Defence once you are blocking Trial bosses.
Stand trees are not that pool
Each Stand has its own tree, from 7 points on Tusk ACT 1 to 50 on The World. Points spent there do not follow you to the next Stand. That is why the player tree comes first.
Locacaca versus Whitesnake
| Locacaca | Whitesnake NPC | |
|---|---|---|
| Skill points | Refunds them | Not the point-refund item |
| Stand | Leaves it | Resets it |
| Speciality | Leaves it | Resets it |
| Weapon | Leaves it | Not described as the weapon reset |
Do not burn a Locacaca to chase a different Stand. You will still have the same Stand and an empty tree to refill.
Weight is a stat choice
Every outfit piece carries weight based on its resistances. Strength raises how much weight you can equip. Agility is what heavy gear fights. If sprint and dash feel short, you are usually over the comfort weight of your Agility, not missing a hidden movement Stand.
Specialities
Hamon, Vampirism and Spin are the three documented specialities. May 2026 footage shows Spin and a Vampire Mask sold at the Black Market. A 2022 guide named Zeppeli and a $2,000 Hamon fee. That fee is not restated on the October 2026 summary, so pay whatever the current NPC shows. Whitesnake can clear a speciality. A Locacaca cannot.
Pluck is the weapon named in older item guides, including a reported 5 percent drop from Bruford and a Hamon combination. Those weapon rates were not restated in the October summary.
